Ask a grown-up
When to get help with AI
Like I’m 5
AI can be fun and helpful. But if something feels confusing, scary or too good to be true, stop and ask a grown-up you trust.
The big idea
AI helpers sometimes say things that are wrong, strange or not meant for children. That's not your fault. The smart move is to stop and show a grown-up.
Grown-ups can help you check whether something is true, keep your private things private, and choose apps that are right for your age. Using AI together is safer and more fun.
Examples
- A strange answer: A chatbot says something odd. Show a grown-up instead of believing it.
- Asking where you live: An app asks for your address. Stop and ask a grown-up first.
- A pop-up prize: 'You won a prize, tap here!' Ask before you tap.
How it works
- Notice when something feels odd or confusing.
- Stop, and don't tap or type anything more.
- Show a grown-up you trust and decide together.

Most AI services set minimum ages and use filters for younger users. Parents can use family settings, and schools often have approved tools. Supervised use is the recommended approach for young children.
